Simply striking him with it won't do the trick - you'll have to get it to explode around him instead. Making matters worse is that his weakness, the Commando Bomb, is an unruly weapon that must be used with precision to adequately damage Blade Man. While he's completely predictable and fairly one-dimensional, his weapon is difficult to avoid no matter how good you are. He will jump to the left wall next and it's the same story as he was on the right. You can guide the missile's path to hit the ceiling. Blade Man himself, however, is a force to be reckoned with. Stand behind Blade Man when he is on the ceiling. It's a cool little place to explore, with a lot of enemies that are specific to this particular stage (though, as we all know, latter Wily stages have all sorts of enemies to deal with from previous Robot Master levels). What is known is that, with the exception of Knight Man's stage in Mega Man 6, we haven't seen a level quite like this one before. Perhaps Blade Man is a sucker for nostalgia like we are? Who knows. The truest of true Mega Man nerds might even notice that there's a Mega Man 7 throwback to be found on this stage as well, as an enemy from Shade Man's stage in that game can be seen in the background, encapsulated in glass containers. But his stage, which is a gigantic castle of sorts, is pretty cool, and throws some unique twists and challenges at you as well. Blade Man is, in my estimation, perhaps the most annoying Robot Master in the game to fight, especially if you aren't coming to the battle with the proper armaments.
